Osvita Scholarships

Through the St. John's Institute Foundation, Osvita offers 6 scholarships/awards to deserving students.

Scholarship J: Ukrainian Summer School Scholarship in memory of Nicholas Ozipko
Value: $ 450 (100 X 3) and (50 X 3)
Number: Three (3) first and three (3) second annually
Conditions: To be awarded to student of Ukrainian 10, 20 and 30 in recognition of academic merit, residing at St. John’s Institute.

Scholarship U: Osvita Culture Award in memory Michael Theodore Grekul
Value: $ 520 (130 x 4)
Number: Up to four (4) annually
Conditions: To be awarded to St. John’s Institute Osvita Summer Program students in recognition of outstanding participation and personal contribution in all cultural activities.

Scholarship Y1: The Mike and Mary Ozipko Osvita Ukrainian Language Scholarship
Value: $ 100
Number: One (1) annually
Conditions: To be awarded to one Ukrainian Orthodox student in either Ukrainian 10, 20, or 30 in recognition of highest achievement.

Scholarship R: Osvita Summer Program Bursary in memory of Dmytro Sawchuk
Value: $ 1000 (200 X 5)
Number: Up to five (5) annually
Conditions: Shall be awarded to up to five (5) applicants of Ukrainian Orthodox faith from the Vegreville and area Parishes who apply to St. John’s Institute summer language immersion OSVITA program.

OSVITA Leadership Award
Award: A Tryzub pendant
Number: One (1) annually
Conditions: Awarded to the OSVITA student who exhibits outstanding leadership in all aspects of the OSVITA program.

Ukrainian Professional and Business Club Scholarship
Value: $100
Number: no limit, all individuals that meet the conditions below will receive the scholarship.
Conditions: Shall be awarded to all students who receive a passing grade (50%) in Ukrainian 10, 20 or 30 while enrolled in the OSVITA summer language immersion program.
