They came; they mesmerized; and left us wanting more!

Edmontonians, you should be proud! Ukraine’s famed a cappella ensemble, Pikkardiys’ka Tertsia took the stage at Edmonton’s Jubilee Auditorium on Saturday, January 17, singing to an audience of over 1,800 people! (click HERE for short film clip).

Gasps were audible when the curtains parted, revealing over 278 Ukrainian youth behind the 6 artists. Together, they lead the auditorium in a sonorous rendition of the Canadian and Ukrainian national anthems. With cheers and cries of joy and patriotism, Pikkardiys’ka Tertsia lead us on a journey through a mix of well-known and rare Christmas carols and folk songs. With only a few notes sung, the crowd simultaneouslyrose in salute for the requiem Plyve Kacha, bringing shivers to all in the hall. The concert culminated with a 20+minute encore presentation, leaving everyone hoarse (from all the cheering!), but with a wealth of emotions to take home!
